Paul Bavister – Sound, Acoustics Music and Architecture

Having graduated from the Bartlett School of Architecture in 1999, Paul Bavister started working in the restaurant and retail sector on projects such as Belgo Restaurants, and Habitat. Subsequently, whilst at Foster and Partners, he worked on both Peterborough and Corby City Academies. Now an Associate Director at Flanagan Lawrence, Paul was project architect on the award winning concert hall and theatre for the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.

 Bavister has given lectures on the relationships between Sound art and Architecture at universities across London, and is currently a Unit (14) tutor at the Bartlett School of Architecture. Paul has had work published in the RIBA Journal, Building Design, AD Magazine, Blueprint and PAPER magazine. In 2005, Bavister along with architect Kason Flanagan and acoustician Ian Knowles established the Audialsense collective, creating soundworks and acoustic environments that include the ‘Soundforms’ acoustic staging system.
